GReddy exclusively uses GReddy Spec. Mitsubishi heavy Industries Turbochargers, many of which are unique to us, includingthe popular 18G's, compact TZ line and T-power Turbos. Mitsubishi turbochargers are among the highest quality turbos on the market today and utilize a large free-floating bushing type with an extra large centre shaft. We believe this design to be superior to all other standard bushing turbos and also many ball bearing types. One concession with ball bearing turbos is that good quality ones are very expensive and low quality units aren't much better than the average turbo. Through testing we have found that some of these Mitsubishi turbos have better response than similar sized ball bearing competitors in certain applications. What it basically comes down to is how well matched the turbo is for your application or how well designed a turbo kit is for the end goal. Peak horsepower numbers, large external dimensions and high boost levels do not tell the whole story. Variations in propely sized housings and wheels can mean all the difference in drivable, usable power. That is why we generally don't push selling turbos separatly, but we do sell well-engineered turbo kits for specific applications. With ovef 20 years of porformance turbocharger experience, GReddy is able to offer the best combination of response and peak power by properly matching the turbocharger size and design to suit any application from high power, top level race cars to GReddy's own bolt on and upgrade turbo kit lines. We generally like to build kits around turbochargers at the lower end of their efficiency range, so although they have good bolt on performance, they are still highly upgradable for higher boost applications. After working with T-poer racers like tahe Titan Motorsports Supra. Rotary Performance RX-7, Stephen Papadakis's FF Drag civic and Nuformz FF Drag Neon, GReddy has gained the respect and admiration from these and other racers all who will speak for the GReddy turbo's response, power, reliability and durability. While most other racers have to continously change or rebuild their turbochargers throughout the season, it is not uncommon for our racers to use the same turbo all season, or even longer. T-power racers use the same turbos supplied in GReddy turbo kits. By utilizing oil only centre cartrides, installation is simplified without affecting reliability as long as proper turbo timing and oil changes are made. This turbo design also helps in the engine's reliability by not taxing the engine's coolant system. this is why we believe GReddy turbos are among the best.
